David Warner set the tone against the Royal Challengers on Saturday with the Australian vice-captain belting 92 runs off just 50 deliveries. He had support from Kane Williamson, who made 50 off 38 balls, and Moises Henriques who made 31 runs in just 14 deliveries to help the Sunrisers post 194/5 batting first.

Despite losing Virat Kohli early, Lokesh Rahul and AB de Villiers tried to spark a comeback. While Rahul was dismissed by Henriques, Shane Watson was run out for 2 runs. The Royal Challengers were rocked when de Villiers found deep mid-on in the fifteenth over with the score at 129. Sachin Baby and Kedar Jadhav tried their best to get their side across the line but some decent death bowling from the Sunrisers meant that the hosts won by 15 runs in the end.

After suffering a defeat by the Kings XI Punjab on Saturday, Gujarat Lions were subjected to yet another defeat on Tuesday evening with the Delhi Daredevils winning on their home turf. Rishabh Pant and Quinton de Kock took matters into their own hands with a 115-run opening partnership for the Daredevils. After their dismissals, Sanju Samson and JP Duminy were on hand to complete the victory with 16 deliveries to spare.

The Daredevils had bowled superbly well earlier in the game as they limited the Lions to 149/7 in the first 20 overs. Shahbaz Nadeem claimed two wickets but it was Zaheer Khan and Amit Mishra who shone with the ball. Dinesh Karthik and Ravindra Jadeja batted well for the Lions on the occasion.

The Lions batsmen need to get going on Friday however, it would not be an easy task against the Sunrisers. The latter have some good bowlers in their ranks who have been in good form. The hosts also have some very good batsmen and have done well at home this year.
